Today, Duke Cunningham pled guilty to receiving over $2 million in bribes from Mitchell Wade and his company, MZM Inc., in exchange for legislative favors. It’s worth noting that MZM also did some unusual business with the White House:

[O]ver the past three years it [MZM Inc.] was also awarded several contracts, worth more than $600,000, by the Executive Office of the President. They include a $140,000 deal for office furniture in 2002 and several for unspecified “intelligence services.”

Why did the White House hire MZM, a “defense and intelligence firm,” to buy office furniture for the White House?

In other news, I note that Dell is going to start shipping with AMD... I look forward to seeing this reflected in AMD's stock price. At this rate I fully expect a return of 3x in 3 years from AMD. Had I done the same thing with AAPL, I would have gotten 7x... As it is I've ridden AAPL for double this year. They always say invest in the products you really like, and I concur... Pay no attention to my decision to buy SUNW, because I love Java.
Google, (Which I don't own) has doubled this year 200 to 400.. I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger at 300, and I just can't bring myself to pull the trigger on that guy at 400. Do I see GOOG at 600 next year? Probably.
I rode NVDA for a quick buck this year to cover my losses from SUN.. They are historically a very noisy stock that lends itself well to short term gains. My strategy has been to buy after that one bit of bad news that snaps the price artificially low... Right now they are riding high on the impending console releases... But I keep watching.

So I had West Coast Vinyl stop by to do an estimate to replace all my single pane, heat sucking windows.. Jebus god $16,000! Ok, what's also funny is there is a $1000 money back guarantee, if the windows don't reduce my heating bill by 40%.. What they don't know, is that my house was built in 1911, and there is _no_ insulation of any kind in the walls. So I'm thinking that brings the cost down to $15,000.. But Damn.. I think I'll put that off for another couple years. Also funny: The guys last name was Casino, Vegas anyone?

Christ for $16,000 I can get another house with an interest only loan and flip it in a year.

I got an email about one of my products possibly shipping.. The exact quote was 45,000 users...
But lets scale that down to say.. 10,000...
In this case fulfillment would require taking a box we bought from someone else, registering, provisioning, etc.. Basically think re-shipping a cable modem.

SO.. since we have no shipping department to speak of, consider this:
If it takes 5 minutes to process each order; 50,000 minutes translates into roughly 260-man-days of work... we'll have to address that when the time comes.
