Vector Clocks again...

http://blog.basho.com/2010/01/29/why-vector-clocks-are-easy/

This is my second post on Vector clocks, they must be in style! I blame No-SQL.

Bram Cohen is a Douche

Every time I read/hear this guy speak he strikes me as an incredible DBag. *SOB* He lost his nick on IRC...

http://bramcohen.livejournal.com/72298.html

...
given that I've always had this nick, and that there are only two people named Bram which are recognizable names in open source, and that my name is one of the most well known in open source, I'd like my nick back :-P
...
if nobody does anything about this I'm going to go public about it, freenode does NOT want the publicity of me being pissed off
...
and I hope you realize that you just completely pissed off one of the most well known and respected people in the whole open source community

My new favorite recipe

SQL Foo

It’s funny.. I remember in college I absolutely hated the thought of SQL.. I associated it with everything dead and unexciting in Computer Science… Now look at me, a Postgres fanboy and blogging some exciting SQL foo.

I sent an email to the EU

Ultimately the track record shows that Monty was a bad (Business) steward of the MySQL project and his biggest and loudest protests are only misdirections. Frankly he's just embarrassed that his creation is now (potentially) owned by his life long competitor.

Who knows, maybe Oracle will be a better steward of MySQL than Monty or Sun. It certainly wouldn't be hard.
